Southern Bell Events is located in the heart of the historic section of Lenoir City just 2 miles off I-75.  Built in 1920, the venue features original art deco exteriors with colored prism glass windows, interior twelve foot ceilings covered in beautifully restored pressed tin, and gleaming hardwood floors.  A fifteen foot long restored antique store counter provides the perfect set up for serving food and drinks.  The Southern Bell derives its name from the upper floor of the building where the Southern Bell Telephone exchange was located for several decades. If you're looking for a special venue that has the charm that only a historic property can offer - yet can be uniquely your own - please call us for a walk through.

Southern Bell Events can be entered at 102 E. Broadway or through the rear door the opens onto 103 E. Depot St. It is located in a 1920 historic building that was previously a dry goods store. We've tried hard to retain many of the original features of the building while updating the conveniences that today's guests expect. The bride'r room includes a separate bathroom and vanity area - just for the bridal group. The original pressed tin ceilings are restored and show off the character of the original design. We've added large chandeliers to make the venue even more beautiful.Since we are located in the historic downtown area, we are closeby other historic old buildings and the railroad track which may great backdrops for special photographs! We've created beautiful pieces for our guests to be able to decorate and make their events special. This is the six foot long drink bar made from an antique door and pieces from a 1900 shelving unit. Our space is large enough to hold 160 people - but is also perfect for smaller groups to feel like the space is intimate and designed especially for them. The rental fee includes vintage tables and chairs up to 100 and white tablecloths. We have several unique antique tables for our guests to use for gifts, photographs, registry, etc.Our venue is 25 feet wide and 150 feet long. Ceilings and walls are white to provide the perfect backdrop for your event's decor. Our downtown historic buildings make beautiful pictures.Yes - we've created new bathrooms for our guests. Of course they have chandeliers and are beautifully decorated. We've even used vintage doors from the Southern Bell Telephone Switchboard Exhange as the bathroom doors. There's plenty of room for dancing! We salvaged a 15 foot store counter from the Rexall building next door. This has been completely restored and is perfect for the caterer or guests to serve food or drinks.
