Jamey and Russell were always meant to be. From over 500 miles away, a mutual friend introduced the two over the phone. Russell lived in South Carolina at the time while Jamey lived in Washington, DC. After the couple started talking, their long-distance relationship began. After months of dating, the two finally met in person on Jamey’s birthday. The pair knew they wanted to be together forever. Russell planned to propose to Jamey during a trip to her alma mater, Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. When they arrived with their family to the college stadium, he asked Jamey to stop in front of a famous statue for a photo. She turned around and he proposed to Jamey’s delight. With excitement, she said yes creating their perfect proposal story.

Since South Carolina was an important place to the couple, Jamey and Russell knew they wanted to host their wedding in the state. South Carolina was the place the took vacations, first said “I love you”, and now would say “I do.” Jamey loved the beach and always desired to get married there. The Westin Hilton Head island and Spa was the last venue the then newly engaged couple visited and ended up being the venue of their choice. The stunning location set the backdrop for a whimsical wedding with blush, gold, and white details. For her wedding day look, Jamey chose a backless A-line dress with lace beading and a dramatic train. She wore a custom hairpiece that was created from pieces of her mother’s hairpiece from her wedding. Her bridesmaids with blush gowns in various styles. Russell and his groomsmen wore navy suits with different brown shoes and belts. Blush ties completed the groomsmen’s wedding attire while Russell wore an ivory tie.

An intimate outdoor ceremony by the beach was followed by a reception indoors at Jamey and Russell’s venue. Beautiful, ivory and blush pink florals with an abundance of greenery decorated the entire event. The couple also chose to place unique centerpieces with floating candles for their guest tables. Guests had a blast, dancing throughout the duration of the wedding and took home custom koozies as favors. At the end of the night, the newlywed couple enjoyed a last private dance while their guests were guided to the after-party. Jamey and Russell urge each couple planning their wedding to “remember your wedding day is about the two of you and only you.” They recommend hiring a professional vendor team stressing the importance of a wedding coordinator. The couple adored their wedding day, stress-free and will always cherish the memories made.
