Rainy Day Elopement

View More Photos

Skylar and Josh share a beautiful story. They met through their local church and became inseparable from that moment. The pair knew they were meant to be when they found out that they both had been attending the same church for years without meeting. Jacob is in the army and after returning from a trip, he planned to propose to Skylar. He rented a cabin inviting their family to celebrate. The first night of their stay at the cabin, Jacob proposed on a candle filled balcony with flower petals surrounding the couple. Skylar immediately said yes; the couple celebrated alongside their family for a heartfelt memory.

An intimate elopement would bring Skylar and Jacob together. For a sign of good luck, it rained creating a dreamy haze for photography. For her wedding gown, Skylar wore a full-length lace, white dress and blue flats. Her dress was short sleeves with a unique tailored waistline. She later changed into brown sandals for the reception. Her hair was wavy to create a natural glam look. A delicate diamond headband and tulle veil completed her wedding day style. She carried a fresh floral and greenery bouquet. Jacob wore a traditional military uniform. After getting ready alongside close friends and family, the couple chose to incorporate a first look before their ceremony. They captured photos to cherish the moment.

Their reception was filled with handmade signs, burlap, and neutral colors. Lanterns with candles were featured throughout the event. Their venue was located on a private property and the reception took place under a tent onsite. Guests could enjoy local barbeque from a food truck along with mini-cupcakes and cake. The couple selected a naked cake with simple eucalyptus and a wooden cake topper. Skylar and Jacob stress the importance of photography and advise couples to splurge on this vendor. They treasure looking back at photos from their special day. Skylar and Jacob had a blast on their wedding day saying, “Focus on the big picture for a minute when the little details are overwhelming!”
