Joyful Rose Gold Wedding

View More Photos

Mary and Jonny’s joy and love for one another brought their beautiful wedding day to life.  In January of 2019, Mary knew she was ready for a relationship. Soon after, she met Jonny through a mutual friend from their college. They were meant to be from the beginning and shared meaningful conversation when they met. A few days later, Jonny asked Mary on their first date. The two knew they wanted to be together forever early within their relationship. After talking extensively about their future and engagement, Jonny began planning their proposal story. He drove twelve hours to ask Mary’s parents for their blessing before Mary and Jonny’s planned trip to the beach. After a whirlwind of mishaps, Jonny brought Mary to the beach and proposed. Mary immediately said yes, and the happy couple spent the rest of their day celebrating, watching the sunset and asking strangers to take their photo so they could capture their memory from the day.

For Mary and Jonny’s wedding, they initially wanted a summer wedding but began envisioning a warm winter wedding. Mary was inspired by burgundy, quartz, light greens, and graphite grey. Pinehaven Presbyterian Church held their ceremony and Sterling Hall hosted their reception. Accents of rose gold that matched Mary’s ring could be observed throughout their wedding. Mary wore a stunning long sleeve, mermaid style dress in an ivory color. As a compliment, Jonny wore a dark grey suit with a burgundy tie. The couple knew photos were important to them and decided to splurge on photography while keeping decorations to minimum. They purchased and arranged flowers themselves using spray roses, sand roses, snowflake-pom flowers, dusty miller, seeded eucalyptus, and burgundy dahlias. For their guests, Mary and Jonny offered a festive hot chocolate bar.

The couple’s favorite parts of their special day were exchanging letters and sharing a first look. They also cherish the memory of standing next to each other alongside their friends and family, exchanging vows and singing their favorite hymns. Mary and Jonny’s day was filled with laughter through moments such as the cake cutting. They smashed cake in each other’s face for a humorous moment. For sentimental value, there were many family heirlooms and handmade features at the pair’s wedding. Mary’s garter was handmade by her aunt and Mary wore her grandmother’s gold studded earrings. Mary and Johnny advise couples who are planning their wedding to remember that “Your wedding day is yours so laugh at the silly things and remember that tin the end, you and your best friends will be together forever!”
