Classic Summer Wedding in Louisville, Kentucky

View More Photos

Tiffany and Shawn met in college when they had a class together. They did not talk to one another much until Shawn added her on Facebook. He made the first move and decided to message her and the rest is history! They had just finished the process of buying and moving into their first house. After settling in, they both decided they were going to host a "Friendsmas" and Shawn thought this would be the perfect time to propose. Shawn and Tiffany's best friend organized a couple's ornament exchange. They happened to be the last couple to choose a gift. Inside was an ornament with a bride and groom painted on it and woven in the ribbon at the top of the ornament was an engagement ring. Shawn then got down on one knee and proposed in front of all their friends!

The vision for the wedding was classic and elegant but timeless. The ceremony location was at a stunning old vintage style church and the reception was at a historic venue. The colors of the wedding were pink and blue for the summertime. The groomsmen wore gray suits and Shawn wore a navy suit to stand out. The bride wore a very elegant gown that she could look back on 30 years from now and still love. The bridesmaids wore long length light pink dresses. The flowers were made up of greenery, peonies, and hydrangeas. The wedding cake was a three-tiered cake made from white cream cheese and raspberry filling. The wedding favors consisted of old vintage skeleton keys with name tags.

If you ask Tiffany and Shawn what their favorite part of the day was they would say their first look. They will never forget how nervous they were right before they walked out to see each other. Another favorite part of the day was Tiffany's dad had written and recorded their father/daughter song. It was a moment she will treasure forever. Shawn's had Tiffany's grandmother's handkerchief during the ceremony for her to use just in case. Tiffany also had a pendant she had made for her something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue. It had a charm from her grandmother that posed as something blue, Tiffany made a charm that had S + T to pose as something new, her mothers cross to pose as something borrowed and then the pendant itself was old, it was from her grandmother. Some advice from the couple would be, "The best piece of advice I used while planning this event was to do what we want! Stop worrying about what is going to make everyone happy and do what makes you happy! Because of this, our day was so stress-free and we loved every minute of it!"
