Rustic Barn Wedding

Samantha and Chris met on an online dating site called bumble. They talked on bumble almost every day until they finally set up a date! Samantha and Chris met at a local restaurant one night after a day of work. They spent the whole night talking away about various things and even stayed until the restaurant had closed. They quickly had set up another date and it was even more romantic than the first. Samantha was so nervous the whole day and had changed her outfit six times to make sure she was second date ready. They again spent the whole night chatting away and sharing stories. After that, the dates never ended!

The night Chris proposed, Samantha was just getting over a bad cold. She managed to get herself ready for a nice night out together. They had gone out for dinner and ended up at one Samantha’s favorite fishing spot. This spot was her favorite because it’s where they would enjoy many night fishing trips and Sunday afternoons around the pond and was considered “their spot.” Chris left the bench Samantha and he had been sharing and got down on one knee. It was such an emotional and special night and Samantha said YES!

Chris and Samantha’s wedding vision was to keep it fun, special, but also laid back. Their passion for fishing is what led them to have a "getting hooked" theme. The toughest part of planning was picking a date since they knew they wanted an outside wedding. They found their perfect venue at Bandit’s Ridge and then set their date. Their venue was a large barn and they wanted to tie in sunflowers and navy blue into their rustic vision. They had picked out bridesmaid's dresses in the navy-blue color but that was different up top. The groomsmen wore a white long-sleeved shirt and navy-blue bow ties and the groom and son were a navy-blue vest to stand out. The bride wore a two-toned dress with lace. Then they worked hard into added their fishing theme into their big day without overdoing it.

Chris and Samantha want to share their best piece of advice while planning their wedding, “One reason our day matched us as a couple so well was, we kept our planning true to us. We didn't do, add, invite or splurge on anything that the both of us truly didn't want. Even though people were constantly giving us their opinions and trying to control a part of our day, we took each step together and only picked what we wanted and as I said earlier, I wouldn't change a thing about our day. It was truly made up of us, the bride and groom, with the things we love and even things that make us who we are. I followed that advice and kept it true to us.”
