Historic Oak View Park Engagement Session

Eric and Katy met since they both worked at the same Elementary School in Frisco, Texas. They had known each other for about a year and a half when the school decided that due to enrollment numbers, some teachers would be transferred to a different school. Eric was concerned about Katy, that he invited her to dinner after her first interview. From that day on, they were inseparable.

Eric was the director of Honor Choir at his school and told Katy that he was receiving a special award at school for his work and dedication. Katy took off of work to go to Norris to support Eric in receiving his award. During the ceremony, the assistant principal gave a speech about Eric and how grateful they were for his dedication and hard work towards the choir and gave him a gift bag. Eric called his family, Katy, and her family onto the stage for a photo and began introducing family members. When it was his turn to introduce Katy, he announced that she wasn't family… yet. He ripped open the bag, pulled out a ring and got on one knee. With cheers from students and staff, Katy said YES!

The engagement ring is a gold band round solitaire ring with a 5/8 carat diamond hand-picked by Eric. Eric attended an event where he custom made the ring and pick out the diamond and band. Katy's outfit was a white, sleeveless maxi dress and nude colored flip flops. She accessorized with gold teardrop metal earrings and styled her hair down but curled with natural makeup with a bold red lip. Eric's outfit was black jeans, army green button-up and camel brown lace-up shoes. He rolled up the collared shirt sleeves to make it about three-quarter length.

Some advice from the couple for engagement shoots, “We tried to pick outfits that showed our personality. We, of course, went the traditional route with some pictures of the bride wearing white, but to show our personality and have some vibrant colors in our pictures, we decided to do pops of color with shoes and accessories like earrings or lipstick. We were in constant communication with our photographer to get her opinions and advice on what to wear, and then when it came time for the engagement session, we were ourselves and we had fun.”
