A Romantic Outdoor Wedding

View More Photos

Lauren and Lane met in school at Starkville Academy and Lane was Lauren's middle school crush. Lane had no idea that Lauren had a crush on him throughout high school. The two later reconnected after a few years thanks to a mutual friend and they both immediately felt butterflies. Lane knew from the day they reconnected that Lauren was the one.

Lane is a pilot so he incorporated flying into the proposal. They went on a flight and as the plane landed, Lane had a photographer hiding by the truck to snap the pictures of the proposal. They had their dog Jedd with them and as they got out of the plane Lane yelled, “Lauren!” and as she turned around he was down on one knee. Both of their families were there to enjoy the engagement and they later celebrated with an engagement party with family and friends.

As a Bride, we always fanaticize about what our wedding is going to be like and for Lauren she knew she wanted an outside wedding. The two fell in love and said “I do” in the most whimsical ceremony outside in front of a lake. Lauren is in love with the color purple, so they went with a berry theme wit different shades of purple. The bride wore a dress that was modest but with a modern off the shoulder look. For the bridesmaids, Lauren did different style dresses and three different colors. She wanted something more simple and casual for the groomsmen, so they wore jeans, jackets, tie and boots. Lane wore the same as his groomsmen with his unique pair of boots.

Lauren and Lane are beekeepers so their favors were jam jars of honey with a honey stick and cute card that said: "Lauren and Lane meant to bee". The floral décor was put together by the mother of the bride and they were silk flowers. The reception flowers were purple roses and baby's breath. The wedding cake was by Magnolia Made truly and it was a three-tiered cake with flowers and a sign that said Mr. & Mrs. on top. They danced the night away with a band that Lane picked out personally and had a grand sparkler exit.
