Bright Southern Wedding

View More Photos

Brittney and Dusty met while she was working at a daycare for his mother. He would always come and visit her until one day he asked her to be more than friends and to give him a shot. A few years later the two went on a beach trip with Dusty’s parents. They had arranged to take some nice pictures of them and Brittney’s son on the beach. After countless photos, Dusty urged her to take one more in front of a gorgeous palm tree. After they smiled for a few pictures Dusty got down on one knee and asked Brittney to marry him. After the initial shock wore off Brittney realized that he had gotten her the ring that she had shown him months before!

The couple knew that they wanted an outdoor wedding because what could get better than the East Tennessee landscape! Brittney knew that she wanted to decorate their wedding with lots of bright colors like coral and spa blue. The couple decided that having a huge wedding wasn’t in the cards for them. They dreamed of a simple outdoor southern wedding with their closest family and friends.

Brittney tried on dress after dress and ended up settling on one that she wasn’t totally in love with. After her mother convinced her to visit one more shop to look Brittney finally had her princess moment when she tried on a strapless sweetheart dress that flattered her in every way! Her bridesmaids wore a spa blue dress while the maid of honor wore coral. Dusty was set on wearing the opposite of whatever the groomsmen were wearing. He chose to wear a dark grey suit while the groomsmen wore a lighter colored grey suit.

Photos have always been an important thing to both Dusty and Brittney. They decided to splurge on a photographer since it was one of the only tangible items from their wedding that they could cherish forever.

Brittney advises couples that are planning their wedding to stay off of Pinterest! Seeing thousands of centerpieces that look almost identical can be overwhelming. She wishes that she had stopped looking once she found something that she liked.
