DIY Inspired Chapel Wedding

Annabeth and Randy were married in a sweet ceremony in front of the chapel at Owens Farm in South Carolina!

The little chapel is surrounded by a field that offers an amazing background for their ceremony. The couple wanted the theme of their wedding to be a rustic-chic style. This meant whiskey barrels, outdoor pews, and lots of flowers. They wanted their guests to be able to sense their personality as a couple throughout the décor at their wedding. The location of their venue was perfect for them because of the laidback vibe it offered. They decorated the venue with burlap, babies breath, and greenery.

Randy wore a navy blue tuxedo paired with a wine tie and brown shoes. His outfit was the perfect mix of simple class and style. Annabeth’s bridesmaids wore wine-colored dresses that reflected their fall wedding perfectly by matching the groomsmen’s ties. Annabeth wore a long lace dress that was as classy as it was flattering.

The couple added many DIY elements into the decorations at their wedding reception. The table settings, signage, centerpieces, and walking path were all DIY. Their centerpieces consisted of burlap with a lace overlay. On top of that, they added hand-cut wood slices with rustic milk glasses each filled with babies breath. The centerpieces added just the right amount of rustic elegance to the reception space. Another element of DIY in their wedding was the walkway from the ceremony to the reception. They hung photos of them taken over the years that they had been together on old Sheppard’s hooks.

Annabeth and Randy created a remembrance table for the loved ones in their lives that were not able to be there. They filled the rustic tables with small candles and photos of those loved ones. The table was situated perfectly to overlook the ceremony from the reception space.

Annabeth and Randy advise other couples to be patient and open-minded when planning their wedding. They said that they realized that they could save the most money by designing and creating a lot of the wedding décor themselves. They started gathering décor for the wedding early so that they could make sure that they had everything and to keep tabs on their budget.
