One day during an Exercise Leadership class at Kennesaw State University Michael was hoping to meet someone and was thinking to himself how crazy it would be if he were to meet his future wife in that class.

A few minutes later in walks Jessica who immediately caught Michael’s eye. Despite being turned down multiple times Michael remained persistent and kept asking Jessica out. After hanging out as just friends for almost the entire semester Jessica realized that she wanted more with Michael. They spent Memorial Day weekend together with some friends at Michael’s grandfather’s cabin, and the rest is history!

While spending a romantic surprise weekend in Savannah together, Michael arranged for a carriage ride. On this carriage ride, the driver told them the story of how the fountain that they were passing got its name, the kissing fountain. The story is that if you kiss in front of the fountain you will have good luck. Of course, they walked over to the fountain and kissed for good luck. Michael had one last surprise for Jessica! He got down on one knee and proposed with his great grandmother’s ring that he had hidden in his sock the whole day.

During the search for their venue, Michael told Jessica to “pick a place you love and I’ll be there”. They visited Dekalb Historic Courthouse and fell in love with its simplistic modern beauty.  It was important to Jessica that the flowers at their wedding feel organic and like they belonged at the venue. She wanted the colors to be vibrant enough to make the courthouse feel warm but also subtle enough that they wouldn’t take away from the classic nature of the space.

While planning their wedding, it was very important to Jessica and Michael to hire a photographer that they love. They wanted to make sure that their photos would allow them to relive their wedding day for years to come. A real connection with their vendors was at the top of their list. They advise couples that are planning their wedding to do the same. They advise couples to find vendors who are great at what they do and also love what they do.
