Why Should You Hire A Wedding Planner?

96% of couples report feeling some stress when they plan a wedding.  96%!!! That is almost a guarantee. From losing sleep to losing money to almost losing your mind, a wedding planner can come in super handy to save you the stress of all of that.  So, of course, having a professional as a wedding planning guide will make things much, much easier on you… but how so? Today we cover the top reasons you should hire a wedding planner.

  1. Budget

Money is a huge problem during wedding planning.  And it isn’t just issues with not having enough or wishing you had a bigger budget.  There is a huge question mark when it comes to pricing for most couples. They simply don’t know how much things cost.  It is hard to plan when you don’t know what you are working with. And unfortunately, most couples tend to underestimate costs, leaving them vulnerable down the road, when they get near the end of planning, that money could run out and they go over budget.

  1. Contracts

Let’s be honest… if this is the first time planning a wedding for you, you have no idea what you are doing.  That’s ok, you’ve never done this before and a lot of things you can figure out with some time and due diligence.  But something you don’t want to play around with is signing a contract you don’t understand. Having an experienced wedding planner guide you through this process, as well as vendor negotiations, can take a huge load off your shoulders and help you make the best decisions.

  1. Experience

Wedding planners have seen it all, from broken bones, fire alarms going off, overflowing toilets, to cakes arriving completely smashed, trust me if you have done enough weddings you have seen a disaster or two.  And of course, these are unexpected and can catch you off guard and there isn’t enough wedding advice or how-to-blogs to get you ready for a real-life disaster. If something happens, you are going to want a professional picking up the pieces and putting them back together so you can calm down and enjoy your day.

  1. Logistics

There are so so so many turning wheels in a wedding day and they all have to go together, the right way, at the right time.  Hiring a wedding planner not only takes this stress off of you, but it also opens you up to new ideas or sage advice about logistics that online research can’t give you because it is not customized for your specific event.

  1. Time

More than a quarter of couples say they spent 15-20 hours a week planning their wedding, and at least 250 hours total.  That's like a part-time job ya’ll. If you don’t have time to take on that responsibility, hire someone that does.

If a full service wedding planner just isn’t for you, make sure you don’t go without a wedding coordinator, also know as a Day of Planner or Day of Coordinator.  The last thing you need to do on your wedding day is to try to run the event. You can’t be two places at once, and more importantly, you don’t want your mind to be two places at once, so you can actually enjoy the moment.
