Whimsical Winter Outdoor Wedding

View More Photos

Kyle and Rebecca had never met each other face to face until their first date at a Starbucks in Sherman Texas. They had met online and were living almost 2 hours apart. After their first date Kyle didn’t think he would ever get a second chance with Rebecca but little did he know that Rebecca was wishing that their date could’ve lasted longer. They were truly a testament to the phrase “you will just know when you meet the right one”. They both knew that something was different about this date. The next day Kyle drove the two hours up to Dallas just to go to church with Rebecca and to get to spend the day with her.

Their proposal story starts with Kyle blindfolding Rebecca and driving her to her cousin’s cabin that she loves. After a sweet indoor picnic, Kyle brought Rebecca outside to the rose-covered porch, got down on one knee, and popped the question! Family is very important to both Kyle and Rebecca and they knew that they wanted an intimate wedding on the same property that they got engaged on. Surrounded by 75 of their closest friends and family they got married outside of a barn that her cousins built.

Rebecca was most excited about the fact that she could finally have the Christmas wedding that she had always dreamed of! She wanted the wedding to feel “elegant, effortless, and festive but in a country setting”. It was important to the couple that every guest at their wedding felt special and involved in their prayerful ceremony. To achieve this goal, they created newspapers for their wedding programs that explained who everyone participating in their wedding was and the meaning behind the choices that they made.

They incorporated many family aspects into their whimsical winter wedding such as using the same soloist for their wedding that sang in both her parent’s wedding and her grandfather’s funeral. The veil that Rebecca wore was her mothers and the garter was her grandmothers. Rebecca and Kyle advise other couples that are in the process of planning their own wedding to enjoy the time that they’re engaged and to not let the stress of wedding planning get to them.
