We are in love with Jacqueline and Patrick’s coastal destination wedding! These two high school teacher’s wedding mixed romance and elegance with the coastal view and the results are stunning!

Jacqueline met Patrick while teaching at a local high school. Patrick was substituting for another teacher and the pair bumped into one another in the Science office. While it seemed like a brief encounter, a subtle seed of love was planted in each of their hearts. After months of contemplating (and talking in the mirror), Patrick got up the courage to invite Jacqueline to a party. Though she didn’t go, the pair became friends. However, it wasn’t until the beginning of the next school year and a friend intervening on their behalf for the pair to become something more. Patrick and Jacqueline went to a Café thinking the whole teaching staff would be there, but in fact, it was a set up for the two to go out on a date! Well, the plan worked and the couple has been inseparable!

Patrick decided to propose at the couple’s favorite place on a gorgeous summer night. Patrick re-created their first date and favorite date night. The couple went to a favorite restaurant and then down to a rock wall to watch the sunset. The moment Jacqueline put her wine glass on the floor, she turned around to see Patrick down on one knee. Patrick even had a photographer who captured the amazing moments! Afterwards, the couple had a photo shoot on the beach during sunset. When Jacqueline and Patrick went back into the restaurant, their closest friends and family were there waiting to celebrate!

For the overall vision, Jacqueline and Patrick wanted something different from a hall in New York. Both love the beach and coastal areas and spend as much time as possible at the beach. The groom had loved a previous wedding that he had attended as a guest in Newport so the couple took a trip to check it out. Upon arriving at Castle Hill, both knew immediately that it was the perfect venue to say “I Do”.

The color palette for Patrick and Jacqueline’s wedding was soft and romantic! Colors of greens, whites, blush, and peach were used along with gold accents. The reception was flooded with golden candles on candelabras, chandeliers, bistro lights, and soft lace delicately draping the tent. The tent was placed so that guests can look at the beautiful water, making this reception absolutely dreamy!

As much as the bride and groom love their family and friends, the couple felt that involving only siblings for their bridal was the best route to take. Jacqueline loved having her sister as her Maid of Honor while Patrick’s sister was his Best Woman. Both of the couple’s brothers were usher and Patrick’s step-sister did a reading. But Jacqueline’s favorite moment of the day was the ceremony itself! Patrick’s uncle married the couple and asked each person to write about why they wanted to spend forever with the other. He asked both to send him the letters a couple days before the wedding, which he presented to the couple during the ceremony. Each person then read out loud their letter! There wasn’t a dry eye in sight! Patrick surprised his grandmother with a special grandson/grandmother dance after the Parent dances. Jacqueline later joined in and it was truly a special moment for the couple.

Jacqueline and Patrick advises couples who are beginning to plan their weddings to take advantage of every second of the entire wedding planning process; from the day you get engaged until you write your thank you cards. It is a once in a lifetime type of feeling and it is just absolutely amazing. The bride also advises to enjoy the time with your fiancé in every way possible, and to make sure at the end of the day, you remember that the only thing that truly matters is that the day is about you two!
