  • Still Growing

  • How long have you been in business and in the wedding industry?

I have been a profession photographer for almost 10 years. Towards the end of 2016 I started accepting wedding clientele again after taking a break from weddings for 2 years while my children were young and not in school.

  • What brought you into the wedding industry?

Once I started shooting engagements and weddings again my husband became my business partner, shooting with me and helping with business matters. We had so much fun working together and with couples that we decided to focus on weddings and working as a team.

  • What is a lesson you've learned since being in the wedding industry?

The wedding industry is more than a service industry. It is about building relationships. With our clients we do a lot to really know them and their history as a couple. We also like to build relationships with other vendors in the local wedding industry. We find that it is helpful to our clients when we can recommend people that we have worked with personally. I also like to recommend other photographers if we are booked.

  • What is your favorite part about the wedding industry?

My favorite thing about the wedding industry is feeling like we are part of a community of people that love what they do and enjoy helping each other succeed, all while helping couples to have the best day of their lives. Again, we really love building relationships.

  • What is your favorite part about a wedding in general?

I'm a giant romantic so I'm going to say documenting unique moments that capture the essence a couple's personal love story, especially when those moments involve spontaneous laughter or tears. In almost every wedding so far there has been a moment that I  was so touched that I secretly started to tear up behind my camera.

  • What makes you/your business different?

We plan every engagement session to be personal to the couple, their style, history and hobbies. We also do a lot of pre-wedding planning with our couples so we are very prepared for the wedding day, whether that means keeping things on schedule or rolling with the punches. We give a lot of attention to detail, planning details, relationship details, and of course photographic details. We are willing to do whatever it takes to keep the wedding day stress free for our couples. We have even done crazy things like help with the bridal bouquet, cut the cake for guests, and do minor makeup touch ups during long, hot days.

  • Tell us about one of your favorite couples, weddings, or projects!

Oh, it is hard to pick one! One of my favorite projects was last December when I worked with a team of wedding vendors who gifted an elopement / intimate wedding to a very deserving couple in need. The couple was precious and so grateful. The wedding vendors were all amazing. Everyone went above and beyond to make their day perfect.
As far as favorite couples or weddings....I honestly fall in love with each couple and every wedding for different reasons. I just love people and I love watching them be in love. I will say shooting a wedding at the beach was super fun and we are looking forward to shooting a wedding in New York this Fall.

  • Are you seeing any trends in what couples are wanting for their wedding day when they meet with you?

They often comment that they really like the idea of having 2 photographers on the wedding day. Also, I'd say there is a definitely a priority on capturing real moments between bride and groom as well as them with their guests. They comment that they see that in our work and that is one of the things that attracted them to us.
I have also seen an increase in brides that want to do a first look with their dads.

  • What do you wish every couple knew before they walked in your doors for a consult?

Our goal is to ensure from the first meeting that we relieve as much stress from them as possible while making being photographed fun.

  • What piece of advice do you have for couples planning their wedding?

Enjoy the planning process, let people help, be organized ahead of time and then let the wedding professionals take care of the "business"of the day while they focus on enjoying their day to the fullest. After all, the wedding is celebration for THEM! They shouldn't waste a second on worries or stress.

  • Do you have any specials or packages you would like us to highlight? If so, what are they.

We are currently offering $200 towards tier 2 and above packages for 2019 weddings booked through August. The $200 can be used towards extra retouched images, 1 extra hour of photography, or a discount on the total package.

  • What can couples expect when they meet and book with you?

They can expect that we will be helpful and available during planning, that shooting with us will be fun and they will love their photos.

  • Is there anything else you would like us to share or highlight? Let us know!

On any of our standard packages we offer customization to meet the individual client's needs upon request. We offer custom pricing for single shooter weekday elopements and intimate weddings. And we are always happy to travel for weddings.
