Elegant Chapel Wedding

Jordan and Jordan wanted a romantic candlelit wedding with their closest friends and family. Not only was this a stunning one of a kind wedding, they also had a classis sports car as their getaway vehicle, cry worthy vows spoken to each other, and Duncan (their dog!) walk down the aisle and “sit” next to both Jordan’s.

One of our favorite things about this couple is both of them have the same name! The Bride shared that they became friends after learning both of their names are Jordan Johnson. After dating in middle school, the couple was best friends for the next 8 years. For years, Jordan tried to convince Jordan to date him again, and even told her mom he was going to marry her one day! After they began dating again in college, the rest was history!

Because the wedding was in December, Jordan’s vision was a romantic wedding with lots of candlelight. Held at The Chandelier of Gruene, the color scheme was cream, gold and burgundy with greenery.  The couple had chosen the venue when only the frame of the building was up, so you can imagine their excitement when the venue turned out perfect and looked just like the renditions. The open-air white chapel in the woods and the elegant, rustic feel of the reception hall was perfect for the couples’ big day!

Jordan shared that their favorite part of the day were the personalized vows they exchanged. This was something the couple had always said they wanted to do at their wedding. It was important to them to stand in front of all of their friends and family, and declare their love and dedication to each other on their wedding day. Jordan said that although it was nerve racking and overwhelming to speak so personally in front of so many people, she is thankful that they did it because it was a moment they will cherish forever as they were both brought to tears. Another one of their favorite memories was having their chocolate lab, Duncan, walk down the aisle with Jordan and stand at the alter during the ceremony.

When asked what was the most important to the couple while planning, Jordan shared that from the very beginning, her and her mom decided that they needed to hire a wedding planner. Deidra from Sweet August Events helped set up and attend all of the vendor meetings, created timelines for everything, did all of the calligraphy and made the day perfect. Another thing the couple splurged on was the bar. Bartenders4you is known for their margaritas, and they allowed the couple to taste test all of its flavors and pick their 5 favorite flavors to end up on the menu for all of the guests. The couple also decided to hire a videographer and said it was one of the best decisions they could have made, as getting to see their wedding in film and relive the day was a blessing.

All of the flowers were based around the couples’ color scheme and Jordan wanted her bouquet to be very classic, with only creams and greenery. Her bridesmaids also incorporated burgundy and a touch of blush as well.  The wedding cake was a semi-naked red velvet cake with cream cheese icing, and it matched the color scheme perfectly! Jordan is a firefighter, so for his grooms cake, 2Tarts made a fire helmet wrapped with a fire hose, and added his badge with his department and number on the front.

Jordan shared her best advice for couples planning their wedding is to enjoy the process. It is so easy to get overwhelmed with all of the work, time and details that go into planning your perfect wedding, or even worrying about what could go wrong on that day. But never forget why you are doing it all in the first place. At the end of the day, as long as you leave your wedding married to the love of your life, nothing else matters.
