Destination weddings can often be difficult to plan. However, Anna and Adam made it look easy! They planned a gorgeous wedding in Charleston, South Carolina. Ava Moore Photography was there to capture beautiful shots of the couple’s big day. Ava Moore is a Charleston fine art wedding photographer. She was able to photograph both the wedding and Anna’s vision during her bridal session a few months before. Ava shared that Anna’s bridal session made her so excited for the wedding she was counting down the days till the event!

The wedding was held at The Pavilion at Pepper Plantation right outside of Charleston. Adam and Anna live in Florida but their families live in South Carolina and Virginia, so Charleston was an easy pick for a central location! It was important to the couple to have an outdoor ceremony and Pepper Plantation has a beautiful waterfront ceremony location. In addition, the plantation’s reception space is classic and does not require much decorating.

Adam and Anna’s wedding was the definition of elegance. Anna wore an Essence of Australia gown from Gown Boutique of Charleston. We were drooling over all of Anna’s other beautiful details from her invitation, shoes, veil and hair comb. Her bridesmaid’s dresses were a beautiful wine shade, which was gorgeous with the blush roses in the bouquets. It was thrilling to see the handiwork of Tassia from Beautiful Brides along with the floral designs from the very talented Ann at The Purple Magnolia as they transformed the Pavilion into a dream reception space.

Anna chose wine, blush and navy for the wedding colors, as she loved the warm, fall look of those colors and how the florals coordinated with the color scheme. For style, Anna and Adam wanted something classic and vintage with little hints of the military. Anna is a Navy helicopter pilot and being in the military is a big part of the couple’s life. A few of Anna’s coworkers were there in their dress white uniforms to act as ushers and do the sword arch for the couple at the end of the ceremony.

The one aspect of the wedding day that was important to Anna was the flowers. The couple used flowers for the bulk of the décor, and to this day they still get compliments about them! Their vision for the flowers was soft colored greenery, while keeping with the wine and blush theme throughout the arrangements. The mantle arrangement was stunning and Anna’s favorite! Ann at The Purple Magnolia also created a beautiful arrangement along the arch as the ceremony backdrop. Anna and Adam loved the elegant and timeless look of the floral arrangements.

Anna and Adam wanted to throw a fun, unforgettable party for their friends and family to help celebrate the marriage, so it was important to them that guests felt well hosted and and have fun at their wedding. Their favorite part of the day was the first look and reading vows to each other during the ceremony. The couple shares that the biggest advice they can give is to remember the reason for the day and to have fun on your first day of marriage!
