Blush and Burgundy Wedding at Briar Rose Hill by Honey + Bee Photography

Some of our favorite weddings to work on are those where the couple has an amazing story. Hailey and Marvin are high school sweethearts, but they are not your average high school love story. The couple met during Hailey’s freshman year of high school after Marvin came to America to learn English. Marvin was a foreign exchange student, so unfortunately, after his year was over, he returned home to Belgium. Marvin spent the next two years traveling back and forth from the United States to Belgium, and he knew Hailey was the one. He became a citizen and he and Hailey soon took the next step: marriage!

The couple married at at Briar Rose Hill in Bethpage, Tennessee, captured by Honey + Bee Photography. They chose this venue because it was surrounded by greenery and beauty. The wedding had a classic, romantic style with accents of burgundy. In front of a large, sprawling tree, the couple said “I do.”

Hailey wore a gorgeous lace dress to walk down the aisle, while Marvin chose a dapper cobalt blue suit. Rather than having the bridesmaids wear the same attire, Hailey had each girl wear different tones of light pink and blush. Both the groom and his groomsmen wore a pink tie and boutonnieres that matched the flowers in the girls’ bouquets. The mix of colors all went together elegantly. If you are a bride that wants to have mismatched bridal gowns, we say go for it!

The location was decorated with different colored flowers that stood out along the white linens. There was a mix of greenery with pops of burgundy and light pink to match the bridesmaid dresses. These colors also went perfectly with the couple’s wedding cake. They chose a simple, two tiered cake that was designed to look like a white birch tree with their initials on it. In order to allow all their guests to have a treat, the couple also served vanilla and chocolate cupcakes with white and light pink icing decorated as flowers.

For couples that are currently planning, Hailey shared a few words of advice. “Communication is very important!” Communication should be a priority in order for the couple to make their day as stress free as possible. The couple shared that this allowed for them to really enjoy their wedding and reception. When asked about their favorite parts of the day, the couple said that dancing the night away and just being with the ones they loved made their day all the more special.
