Rustic Wedding at Country Jewell by Shutter Sprite Photography

One aspect that defines Megan and Stephen’s wedding is love. Their big day displayed the love that they have for each other as well as their love for family and friends. It is also safe to say that the day displayed the love their friends and family have for them. Every detail of their day involved people that are special to them. Megan’s grandmother, Linda, altered all the dresses worn by the bridesmaids. Her grandmother, Eidam, and Aunt Hodge made bouquets and boutonnieres with daisies and wildflowers for the wedding party, as well as all of the flower arrangements and centerpieces for the reception. Her cousins styled the bridesmaids’ hair. This display of love at their wedding laid the framework of serving others for their marriage.

The ceremony was a traditional Catholic service that took place at Knoxville’s St. Albert the Great Catholic Church. The couple vowed to both love and commit to each other, and to their family and friends. Their wedding party, along with immediate family members, stood together and prayed over them and their marriage. Once they were pronounced husband and wife, the couple invited everyone to a reception at the Country Jewell, nestled at the foot of the Smoky Mountains.

Each element of the reception displayed Megan and Stephen’s personality. The tables were decorated with flower-filled mason jars, filled and designed by close family members and friends. The cake topper depicted the new husband and wife with the family dog. There was also a string of photos documenting their adventures thus far. However, the highlight of the reception was watching Megan and Stephen soulfully sing the lyrics to Grow Old by Florida Georgia Line during their first dance as husband and wife.

One final, finishing touch from the family was a drawing made by Stephen’s Aunt Jennifer. The drawing illustrated Stephen’s late grandfather’s ’77 Chevy truck with fingerprint balloons for a unique and sentimental guest book. Rather than leaving in a limo or fancy car, the couple said their farewells and took off in the Chevy.

From the ceremony to the reception, the whole day was beautifully focused on the love, joy and fun that grows when two families unite through marriage. The day was a perfect example of the couple’s love and commitment to each other and to their families.
