Knoxville Garden Engagement Session

Eek! Hannah and Gunter have that blissful 'so in love' look about them and we can't get enough. We initially fell in love with this Knoxville engagement session for the beautiful scenery, wild blooms, and lush greens at the Knoxville Botanical Gardens. Hannah and Gunter's looks were casual and natural... they fit right in with the fresh foliage and spring vibes all around them. Engagement sessions can be a source of stress for some couples, but most quickly realize that it truly is fun to get cozy with your love and in turn, receive some beautiful images to get ready for their big day! Below, Hannah answers some fun questions about the proposal and engagement so be sure to read on...

From Matthew Davidson: "These two were a dream to work with! Both Hannah and Gunter found me online and have never worked with me before. They were a dream to photograph and were naturals in front of the camera. The way Gunter encouraged and supported Hannah during our time together was amazing. The two are meant for each other and our session together just happened to document it all on camera."

Couple: Hannah Ramsey and Gunter O'Dell

How did you all meet?

Gunter and I met whenever I was in eighth grade and he was a freshman in high school. Gunter told me that he would marry me one day and that he loved me while I was in the eighth grade. I told him he was silly and that we would never be together as a couple. We stopped talking after that and once I started high school we regained our friendship and then starting dating my sophomore year. Our first date was going to church and then riding up Rocky Top Moutain. We have been a couple and best friends ever since May 10, 2014

What is your proposal story?

I woke up the morning of February 21st 2017 and decided that I couldn't go another day without asking Hannah to marry me. She had a night class in Greenville of the evening time, which gave me just enough time to go and purchase the ring I had picked out for Hannah. I had told Hannah that I was going fishing so she had no idea what was going to happen whenever she got back to town to meet me. I barely made it back to town in time to take her out to eat that night at Cracker Barrel. While we were at dinner I surprised her with a Pandora ring to show her how proud I was of her for doing well on her exam.  After our meal we went for a ride up Rocky Top Moutain (where we had our first date) and enjoyed the sunset. I set my GoPro camera up and asked her to take a picture. The camera was actually recording and that's when I made the best decision of my life and asked the love of my life to marry me.

Tell us about your ring!

My ring is breath taking. It is everything I could have wanted in an engagement ring and more. Gunter done a fantastic job. It is a 14K white gold white with 1 1/4K diamond count. It is a princess cut. Whenever Gunter and I had talked about rings the only thing I told him was I wanted the cut of it to be not too square and not too round. Diamonds go around the band until it reaches the back where my palm is. It has a total of 27 diamonds. I love it and couldn't imagine another ring.

Tell us abouty the engagement shoot and accessories.

Our experience with Matthew was amazing! We both felt so comfortable and relaxed. He made sure to work with us and get to know so much about us. For our outfits I decided that we should be ourselves. Gunter and I are both just simple people so I seen it fit that we wear what we do on a daily basis. I don't normally wear a lot of jewelry so I just stuck with a single bangle bracelet, colorful earrings, and my engagement ring. To us, our outfits really brought out who we are in our photos. I also believe that our choice of outfits went perfectly with the flower scheme at the Botanical Gardens. Overall, our engagement session was nothing short of the best and we can not wait for Matthew to shoot our wedding. Our wedding date is May 26, 2018.

Hannah's blush off the shoulder top paired so well with the vibrant flower scene at Knoxville Botanical Gardens.
