Smoky Mountain Wedding

This gorgeous Tennessee wedding was held at the grand St Francis Catholic Church in the heart of Townsend, then all guests and the newlyweds headed to Pure Water Farm, which was a former European pioneer settlement and has a charming old schoolhouse and crazy beautiful landscapes. Their rustic barn wedding was balanced with elegant details like the classic floral palette and black iron lanterns that looked so romantic! Read below what the bride has to say about their gorgeous day and their fun DIY projects...

We've chosen a few favorites below and make sure to check out the full wedding gallery above!

Are you planning your wedding and you're stuck on two different looks? Why don't you try a little trick here that this sweet southern belle bride did: a bridal jacket added to her Alfred Angelo gown for the ceremony and sans the jacket for the reception

From the bride: "The forecast called for rain, but on the day-of there was nothing but sun. It was a beautiful, warm Fall afternoon. The majority of our guests were close friends and immediate family (60 total guests), most of which traveled from Miami, Fl and New Jersey.

We had quite a few DIYs- our guest bench (instead of a guest book),the crates that our cake sat on, our giant Jenga game, the door with the guest seating arrangements, and lots of other small details. Chris (my now husband) and I planned everything with some help from our family and wedding coordinator. We are avid hikers, so we decided on a mountain-rustic style, and had lots of wooden pieces as well as earthy tones for our table settings. Our reception venue was what I believe to be the most beautiful venue in east TN (we visited 10+ venues when we started planning). As you've probably seen in the pictures Jessica took, Pure Water Farm is located at the foothills on the Smokies, and has a ton of history (it was originally a pioneer settlement). I can't imagine having had the reception anywhere else. We had a short ceremony at St Francis Catholic Church, right in the heart of Townsend.

I wore an all-lace dress by Alfred Angelo, and had a bridal jacket made by a seamstress on Etsy! I loved loved loved having two "different" looks (Iremoved the jacket for the reception). Southern Belle Beauty did my makeup, and Lisa Foster brought my dream bouquet to life lots of green with hits of white and lavender, my favorite colors. I asked my bridesmaid to wear mismatched dresses, which they were more than happy about. They chose the style, and I chose the colors all the while trying to work around the earth tones and bouquets. Everything worked out perfectly."
