DIY French Side Braid

If you’re looking for a gorgeous wedding hairstyle for you or one of your bridesmaids, then you will love this french side braid tutorial by Lisa Price photography and MOPS Hair Designers! I love the idea of dressing up this look by adding a flower or hair accessory that matches your wedding color palette. I could see a lovely bloom tucked in at the end of the braid to offer a little pop of color and style.

Enjoy this easy tutorial and be inspired to give this braid a try for a night out or even on your wedding day!

Step 1:  Loosely curl the entire head of hair. Select a small piece of hair from one side of the head and begin the braid right behind the ear.

Step 2 : Create a french braid across the back of the head, gradually directing it towards the opposite ear.

You may either braid the entire piece of hair and tie it off with a hair band or stop right behind the ear as seen here. If you decide to stop short, use bobby pins to hold the end of the braid in place.  Stylist, Deanna, shows how pinning from the back of the braid creates a seamless, elegant look, hiding all the bobby pins behind the braid.

Step 3:  Style the remaining pieces of hair to fall gently over the shoulder. Spray the entire head smoothing out any flyaway strands.
