Wedding Photographer in Knoxville: Danielle Evans Photography

View More Photos

It is such an honor to feature Knoxville wedding photographer, Danielle Evans Photography, on the blog today! Danielle and I have worked on a dozen projects together (most of which are from The Bride Link DIY series,) and I have to say, she is not only talented but so much fun! I always say when you can work with a photographer on multiple photo shoots and still can’t wait for the next one, they are someone special. I highly recommend her for weddings, family portraits, and commercial work! Enjoy my interview with Danielle below and get to know this wonderful woman behind the camera of Danielle Evans Photography!

Tell me how your passion for weddings and photography started?

Simply put, I fell in love with people. I started with a passion with landscape and travel photography, but I eventually realized I loved to photograph people more than anything. Whether it’s a bride and groom or a mother and her baby, I love to watch people interact and share those special moments between one another.

I studied under another photographer for five years before starting my own business. My wedding business, Danielle Evans Photography, expanded when I purchased Memories Portraits in Knoxville. I now offer not only wedding services but also family, newborns, and commercial work.

What is your favorite part about a wedding (the part that gets you in the gut every time?)

My all time favorite moment is when the bride and groom see each other for the first time. Whether they have a first look moment before the ceremony or they see each other as the bride walks down the aisle, it is by far, my most memorable moment of a wedding.

What is your favorite part about working with brides/couples?

Working with children is such a joy, but when I’m working with adults, I don’t have to hide suckers to get them to do what I need them to do. lol. Just kidding! I love sharing a vision with my brides and grooms and making their vision a reality through their wedding photos. Being able to tell their love story through photos is not only fun but so rewarding.

What makes you unique?

I feel that the relationship I build with my couples makes me unique. We always have so much fun together, and I feel a real connection with each of them. I also like to include unique, photographic keepsakes for each of my couples such as lay flat items, coffee table book albums, and personalized wooden USB drives.

When you don’t have a camera in your hand, what do you like to do for fun?

I’m an outdoorsy girl. I love to hike, bike, and travel. I try to go out of the country every year. I’ve lived in Ireland, backpacked the Inca trail up to Machu Picchu, backpacked across Europe twice, and road biked coast to coast across Northern England with my dad.

How would you describe your style?

I would describe my style as fresh and creative with a portrait photo journalistic twist. This means I set you up in a situation when your emotions and natural personalities take over so that it’s not “posey posey” but instead, tells a story. I like to guide the couples into situations to help show their personalities. I style them but don’t force it. I work hard to catch the couple in a natural pose.

Tell me about a memorable/unforgettable moment at a wedding?

I was shooting a windy beach wedding in Kiawah, SC. All the girls had their hair pinned back, and the bride and one of her bridesmaids were awesome enough to french braid my hair into a beautiful little updo that was perfect all day against the wind!  My brides truly rock my socks off!
