DIY Vase Ideas Using a Paper Towel Roll

With spring in full swing and Easter just around the corner, this DIY centerpiece idea by Custom Love Gifts and Break the Mold Photo is perfect and a must share! Not only are peeps some of the cutest Easter theme snacks, they are so fun to use as festive decorations. Lindsay from Custom Love Gifts shows us two ways to add color and creativity to an ordinary vase. Both DIY vases use a paper towel roll, which totally took me off guard. It’s brilliant! Enjoy this easy DIY vase tutorial for your next spring wedding event!

Reinsert the paper towel role, and fill the jar with mini marshmallows.

Step 4:

Place the stems of the silk flowers in the paper towel roll and arrange the flowers. Add a bow with colorful ribbon.

Blush and Gold Spring Centerpiece Idea

Using a similar technique as the Easter centerpiece above, Lindsay shows us another way to use a paper towel roll to create a colorful vase for flowers. This pink and gold vase is great for bridal showers or a wedding reception!

Items You Will Need

1.Vase

2. Ribbon

3. Paper Towel Roll

4. Plastic bags

5. Sequins Fabric

6. Silk Flowers

7. Scissors

8. Skewers or chopsticks

Step 1:

1.  Place the empty paper towel roll in the vase and trim to match the height of the vase.

Step 2:

Fold plastic bags to match the size of the paper towel roll. Wrap the paper towel roll with plastic bags to add fullness.

Step 3:

Wrap the roll with the sequins fabric and place in vase.  Use the skewers or chopsticks to “fluff” the sequins and bags underneath to fill the vase.

Step 4:

Cut an insert in the gold fabric and place the stems of the silk flowers in the paper towel roll. Arrange the flowers, add a bow with coordinating ribbon.

What a fun project! Thank you Lindsay and Megan from Break the Mold Photo for sharing it with us!
