Proposal Story by Renee Edmond

My fiance cooked me a romantic dinner. He got on one knee and when he opened the ring box a beautiful bright blue butterfly was sitting on the ring. When it flew on he said, "I promise to cherish and love you forever. Will you do me the honor of marrying me?"

Proposal Story by April Wireman

Spending Christmas away from family was something not allowed until after marriage, but my family made an exception in 2004 when I stayed in Ohio with Ron Wireman- my now husband.

Christmas Eve Ron made an excuse for us to go to out to get some last minute Christmas Gifts. While we were gone, his family set up the things for Ron's proposal.

When we got home and came inside there was a sign that said, "If the shoe fits, follow the footsteps" with a trail of footprints cut out of construction paper with Hershey kisses on top of each one in the floor that led from downstairs to up stairs. As I followed the footsteps up the stairs, the stairs were lit with tea light candles. I continued to follow the footprints up through the living room, where Ron's family was video recording me, into the bathroom. At this point Ron had snuck off to the front porch where he was waiting for me.

At this point I was still confused and had no idea what was happening. I got to the porch where Ron was down on one knee and it had started snowing and he asked me to marry him- of course I said yes. I called home to tell my family and Ron hadn't even asked my dad yet!
