The Great Smoky Mountains hold a special place in my heart. Growing up in Knoxville, my family and I were within an hours drive of the beauty of the Smokies and the fun of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The area is both a popular destination wedding and vacation hub because of the relaxed and peaceful atmosphere of East Tennessee. With plenty of restaurants, lodging, and shopping, it is a large destination for honeymoons and weddings alike. I always enjoy finding hidden gems in the mountains and on the blog today, we have found one of my favorite places to hold an intimate mountainside wedding.
Starkeytown Cove is nestled up against the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Surrounded by mountainous views and soft streams, the drive into Starkeytown cove is naturally romantic and breathtakingly beautiful. The property has been in the Starkey family for hundreds of years and recently has been opened to the public for weddings. The bridal cottage is a remodeled, original home on the property and provides couples an intimate wedding venue hidden in the mountains of East Tennessee.
I was invited to participate in a style shoot to showcase the property and teamed up with the wedding planning studio that manages the property, Custom Love Gifts, to create mountainside wedding inspiration. Part 1 below shows the beauty of the property and the breathtaking views and in part two I will walk you through how to create a DIY coffee and doughnut bar for your reception!
Part two of this series will be creating a DIY coffee and doughnut bar for a bridal shower or wedding reception!
